I heard voices, when I fell asleep.
Whispers.

Good night, little one. Sleep well.

Who is it? I tried to ask, but the softness of the bed, the quietness took the moment away, and I slowly slid into the dream.

----

Fingers. At first, I could only see his fingers. Moving fast, fast, like he was knitting something. But I saw no threads, no needles.

Are you awake, little one?

I could hear the low voice whispering, but I could not answer.

Just sleep, sleep, little one.

And again my eyelids closed, and I was swept away by his whispers.

----

The man sighed and stepped away from the window. The room was small, dark and empty. No furniture. He was alone.
"My work here is done. I assume I can leave now", the man spoke quietly, and as he spoke, a dark shadow appeared to the corner of the room.
He turned and faced the shadow, which looked no human or any creature. It was only a shapeless shadow.
For a moment they both, the man and the shadow, just stared each other - if shadows can stare - and then the man moved, only an inch, but the shadow noticed it.
"You want to get out", a creepy, broken voice whispered.
The man hesitated.
"I have no reason to stay", he then said.
"Indeed, your task is accomplished. I'm very pleased in you."
The man bowed rigidly. His face had no expression as he spoke.
"Thank you."

----

Another dream. Another lie. Another death.

The stairway seemed like going on forever, as the man ran.

Another death.

The words echoed in his head, as he finally reached the door and fled outside. The first breath of fresh air was shocking. He had been in that airless, dark room for so long, that he didn't even remember what it felt like to be outside.

The man just stood there, his hand still on the doorhandle, unable to let go. It was raining.

Aed, you must not use dreams to destroy humans.

The man raised his head to meet the raindrops and closed his eyes. I know. I know, he whispered in his mind, to answer the words he could still hear from the past.

Your seven sisters and seven brothers have already stepped into the world of slaying. You must not take that path, Aed Anwir. You must not!

Aed could always hear those words in his head, as clear as when he first heard them. The voice was still desperately, fervently whispering those words. And Aed had promised to obey them.

"I did not break the promise. I did not break it today. But what can I do?" the man asked quietly, even though no one was there. It grows harder and harder. They're terrifying creatures, shadows. And one day I'll take a wrong step. And then will I be doomed, or the one who relapses under my spell?

----

The rain slowly stopped as he made his way to home. Aed liked rainy days. The usual smell of Shakat'myr was almost swept away by the rain. It was almost like spring had come to this world, where there was no seasons.

Aed raised his glare from the ground, as he noticed he was already at his home door. And now he wasn't alone anymore, he could sense someone's presence behind him. Aed turned quickly, prepared for something bad.

"Long time no see", he heard a familiar voice, as he saw the man. And as Aed recognized him, his eyes widened.
"James."
"At your service", the man said with a serious face, but Aed could hear the humour in his voice. Aed smiled, but then noticed that something was missing. He didn't see the usual, huge figure behind the smaller man.
"I see you left your dog home", Aed said and opened the door, looking at James.
"Yes, I know you're allergic to him", James answered with a smile, but then the smile died.
Aed waited, as he saw the man had something important to say.
"As a matter of fact", James said "this is isn't a fun visit. I have your help with something."
Aed glanced the man's serious face and hesitated only a second.
"Come on in", he said quietly and disappeared inside to the dark hallway.

The blackhaired man looked quickly to his sides before he stepped inside and closed the door.

----

I could hear the gentle voice whispering, as I fell asleep. And suddenly I knew I wouldn't wake up anymore, and it made me terrified.

I was dead.
Dead man tells no tales, PART 1.

Hrrrr. So finally I had some inspiration, and since I'm so excited about my soon-to-come heliot, I writed about him.
His name is Aed Anwir, if you noticed, and he makes dreams and nightmares. c:
The other man appearing in the story is James Crispin, he's human and Aed's friend. Kinda.

Story and characters (c) me.

Sorry if there's a lot of grammar mistakes, English is not my mother tongue. >__>

Oh, and Shakat'myr is one of the three worlds where my characters live c:

Jes, tekstiä sinulta! Olet niitä harvoja, joiden kirjoitelmia oikeasti jaksan lukea.
Elikäs nice work ja jatka samaan malliin .)
